SRK Partner Andrew Abramowitz Publishes Novel
SRK partner Andrew Abramowitz’s novel Thank You, Goodnight was recently published by Touchstone (an imprint of Simon & Schuster). Described by The Washington Post as “[s]oul-searching. . . [f]un and unfailingly heartfelt,” and by Kirkus Reviews as “funny and compassionate,” Thank You, Goodnight follows a former one-hit wonder who sets out on a quest to reunite his band and reclaim his legacy.
The novel is about Teddy Tremble, a lawyer approaching forty who was once the lead singer of Tremble, the rock band known for its megahit “It Feels like a Lie.” After a cryptic call from an old friend leads him to the remote hills of Switzerland, where he comes face-to-face with what could be his last fans on earth, Teddy begins to contemplate the unthinkable: reuniting Tremble for one last shot at rewriting history. Never mind that the band members haven’t spoken in ten years, and that they left the music scene in a blazing cloud of indifference. Thank You, Goodnight follows a self involved fallen idol as he tries to find his way back to the top—and perhaps more importantly, back to the one who got away.
Billboard Magazine described the novel as “High Fidelity and About a Boy with a dose of Music & Lyrics thrown in.” Booklist hailed it as “[v]ery funny, deftly done. . . . A pleasure to behold.” And Grammy Award-winner Rick Springfield called it “a hilarious send-up of the music industry, late-onset adulthood, and where the two often uncomfortably meet.”
